Historical Provenance: This exceptional timepiece was the personal watch of the late Dame Rachael Heyhoe Flint, the pioneering captain of the England Women's Cricket team, sports journalist, and business executive. This item represents a unique intersection of fine Swiss watchmaking and British sporting history.

In the listing are some photos of Rachel wearing the very same watch on multiple occasions. After her death in 2017, her family decided to auction some of her belongings with the proceeds going to charity, this watch was one of the lots in the auction which occurred on 02 August 2026.

Ebel watch history dates back to Switzerland in 1911 and is based on a premise that at that time was unique: established by a married couple, each brought their own brand of masculinity and femininity to the brand identity. Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy combined their initials (Eugène Blum et Lévy) to formulate the brand name and worked in close partnership to create a line of premium quality luxury wristwatches that fused the male with the female.

Ebel watches began with Eugène using his experience and knowledge to ensure all the technical aspects were taken care of, resulting in high standards of precision and quality. In tandem with this, Alice focused her efforts on the aesthetic side of things, bringing a distinctively daring eye for detail to the table and introducing the soft, pleasing curves the Ebel watch brand remains known for to this day.

This Pre-Owned Ebel Sport Classic specifications are as follows:

A lovely cream/light champagne coloured dial with gold applied Roman Numerals, gold hands with the Ebel logo and name under the 12 o’clock position.

At the heart of this watch is the Ebel Calibre 057 Quartz movement a top quality Swiss quartz movement known to be incredibly flat (new battery installed).

Strap/Bracelet:

The wave-link bracelet is the most defining and collectible element of the Ebel Sport Classique 1057901. Its unique construction requires specific care and handling.

It features an internal folding deployment clasp that hides entirely beneath the links for a smooth, unbroken look around the wrist. The watch would fit a 15.5cm wrist and there is spare links which would extend this watch to fit t least a 16.5-17cm wrist.
