The Bremont ALT1-P (Pilot) Chronograph is one of the foundation timepieces that launched the British brand Bremont. It is a rugged, highly legible aviation watch designed for military pilots and aviation professionals who demand extreme accuracy and clarity.

Here we have a Pre-Owned Bremont ALT1-P Pilot Chronograph wristwatch.

Case:

This Bremont ALT1-P1/BK watch showcases a hardened stainless steel Bremont 3 piece Trip Tick construction case.  The steel undergoes a hardening process up to 2,000 Vickers (making it roughly seven times more scratch-resistant than normal watch steel). Measuring to a neat 43mm in diameter and 16mm in thickness, the case moulds beautifully to the wrist. On the side are two Stainless Steel Chronograph pushers and a signed crown. At the 8 o’clock position is the crown for the internal rotating bezel and above this at 10 o’clock is the date change button (used with the Bremont tool). On the reverse side is an exhibition case back, on the ring of the case back amongst other engraved info is the watch serial number. The watch face has a heavily domes Sapphire Chrystal with nine layers of anti-reflective coating on both sides, this is the same for the exhibition case back.

Dial:

The striking matt black metal dial is set with C3 super luminova painted Arabic numerals, markers and white hour and minutes hands with a white chronograph central seconds hand with a red and lumed ‘lollypop’ tip. There are three sub-dials, at 3 o’clock is a 30 minute counter, at 6 o’clock is the 12 hour counter and at 9 o’clock is the main watch small seconds counter, the main watch small seconds counter can also be distinguished by the red seconds hand as opposed to the sub-dial chronograph hands being white. There is a date complication between 4 and 5 o’clock. A main feature of this dial is the internal rotatable bezel which is controlled with the crown at 8 o’clock.

Movement:

The ALT1-P is powered by the Calibre BE-53AE automatic chronometer (heavily modified from a Swiss ETA/Valjoux base). It is COSC chronometer-certified, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, features a custom skeletonised rotor, and holds a 42-hour power reserve.

The watch serial number is also engraved on the movement.

Strap/Bracelet:

The watch is fastened by a black calf leather strap with red edged stitching and is secured with a stainless steel signed pin buckle.

This watch was purchased new in 2012.

The watch comes with a Bremont outer box, a leather watch case with a strap and date tool, a new Bremont spare rubber divers strap, a COSC certificate  and warranty card, a Bremont ALT1-P technical notes manual and a Bremont letter relating to the COSC certification. There is also two previous authentication cards from reputed authenticators, Ebay & Sterling Vault Auctioneers.\

This watch has been checked and certified as clear by ‘The Watch Register’ the Global Database of Lost, Stolen and Counterfeit Watches. This database covers a broad range of incidents including robberies, burglaries, snatches, frauds, postal losses, accidental losses and fakes.

The condition of this watch is very good for its age with minimal wear and tear and minutiae scratches to the case due to it’s hardness. There are some small scratches to the exhibition case back but I struggle to see these without a 10x loupe. The leather strap is in very good used condition. (please refer to the photographs).
